Judo is an Olympic Sport and Martial Art based on grappling and throwing. You will learn the skills to throw, pin or submit an opponent, while defending yourself at the same time.
Judo is exceptional in that unlike many other sports, there is no “ideal” body type needed to learn, enjoy and succeed in judo. People of any age, shape, and size obtain the benefits for practicing through the various techniques, skills, and exercises.
Judo is the way to improve fitness, strength, body awareness, physical literacy, balance, coordination, focus, perseverance, self-confidence, respect, humility, discipline and more. Through the practice, participants learn the judo moral code, a set of ethics and values that start on the mats, but are integrated to strengthen many aspects of life.
Although judo is a contact sport, it is very safe for children and adults alike due to the emphasis placed on respect for each other and the skills learned to protect yourself.
Welcome to Kodokwai Judo Club, where tradition meets excellence. For over 5 years, we’ve been fostering a community of judo enthusiasts, from beginners to advanced competitors.
Judo is a journey for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. Our programs cater to children, adults, and seniors, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow at their own pace.
Judo is not only a martial art but also an excellent form of physical exercise. It enhances strength, flexibility, coordination, and cardiovascular health. Practicing Judo also offers mental health benefits, such as stress reduction, increased focus, and improved self-confidence.
For those interested in the competitive side of Judo, Kodokwai has a proven track record of success. Our members regularly participate in and win at local, national, and international competitions, showcasing the high level of training we provide.
We offer different judo programs, providing options for all ages and abilities.

Operating out of a new facility has both start-up and recurring costs. Kodokwai Judo Club will continue its operations as a non-profit society. We’ve set the monthly membership fees, with discounts for each additional family member, at rates which we believe are excellent for the value of the judo programs offered, especially when compared to other sports and extra-curricular programs. Depending on the level of membership we’re able to retain, we anticipate that operating costs can be covered at the fee rates we’ve set.
Monthly Membership fees for age 6-13 yrs old | Monthly Membership fees for age 14+ | |
---|---|---|
1st family member | $80.00 | $110.00 |
2nd family member | $60.00 | $70.00 |
